On Tuesday, April 4th, nine students from grades 4-6 competed in our St. Peter School Annual Spelling Bee. The top three spellers in each grade, determined through classroom spelling bees, participated. It took over 16 rounds for our winners to be determined! This year’s top speller is sixth-grader Jacob Zawisza and in second place is sixth-grader Kasey Zerfoss. Our third-place finisher is fourth-grader, Gabe Zawisza. This is the third year in a row that Jacob has won our school spelling bee and the chance to represent our school at the Diocesan Spelling Bee which he did on May 4th at Lock Haven Catholic School. While he did not place, he represented our school very well. Thank you to Mrs. Robinson for coordinating this year’s Spelling Bee events. The other school finalists were: Fourth Grade: Jordanna Moore, Gabe Zawisza (absent from picture,) Avalyn Bergstresser; Fifth Grade – Addyson Gontis, Abigail Sleasman and Brody Stankan; Sixth Grade – Ruari Egal, Kasey Zerfoss and Jacob Zawisza. Congratulations Jacob and Kasey and great job all spellers!
