St. Peter School recently received a donation from an endowment fund set up by a native of western Pennsylvania and the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. In July of 2012 Tyrone native, John Supino created a permanent endowment in memory of his parents, Antonio and Luisa Supino, for the benefit of every elementary school in the diocese. Even after moving from the area years ago, he had a heart for the schools in our diocese. John passed away this past September but this lasting gift to St. Peter School and the other diocesan elementary schools will go on for many years. The Supino endowment produced and annual distribution for “administrative, scholarships and other expenses.” It is administered by the Independent Catholic Foundation in Altoona through its dedicated mission of serving parishes, schools, ministries and cemeteries in the diocese.
