During the month of December, students in grades 3-6 participated in the St. Peter School Elk’s Lodge “Hoop Shoot” foul-shooting contest. The winners in each of the three age categories are as follows: 8 & 9 year olds: Joshua Brinton & Jo Sharbaugh, 10 & 11 year olds: Jake Stoy and Emily Rush, 12 & 13 year olds: Elyse Watkins and Cole Johnson. These players advanced to the next level of competition in Meyersdale on Saturday, January 5th. At that competition, attended by school winners from 8 Somerset County schools, sixth grader Emily Rush and third grader Jo Sharbaugh placed first in each of their age groups and Jake Stoy and Cole Johnson placed second in their age groups. With the most total free-throws, St. Peter School won the school trophy! Great job players and specal thanks to our Gym teacher, Mrs. Torie Miller for bringing this event to our school again this year!
