How blessed we are that at St. Peter School we can share our hearts, our prayers and our faith with each other during all parts of the year but especially during these most holy times of Lent and Advent. St. Peter School’s annual Christmas Nativity Play will be held immediately following Mass on Friday, December 14th. The Mass that day will begin 1/2 hour early at 10:45 am with the play to follow directly after the conclusion of Mass. This year’s play, presented by the 1st and 6th grade classes is called “Star of Wonder” and is sure to help us all focus on the real meaning of Christmas. Our Christmas Music Concert will be Thursday evening, December 6th at 7pm in the Parish Hall. Featuring many musicians on the piano, guitar, violin and flute, the concert is open to all and light refreshments will be served. The school will also be joining together each morning in the hallway for our morning Advent prayers as we “make ready” our hearts and homes for the coming birth of our Savior. We will light our Advent Wreath and students will be tasked with a “faith challenge” each day to help keep their minds on the heart of Christmas so be sure to ask them about it and see how families can participate together. All families have also received their “Advent Prayer Family” as part of our effort to pray for each other during these weeks of Advent – even as short as they are! Be sure to send in a card before we break for Christmas to be delivered to the family you have been praying for. The students truly enjoy revealing their secret families to each other as they troop up and down the hallway the last days before school is out for Christmas.
