This year St. Peter School is kicking off the year with all the diocesan elementary schools celebrating friendship, family and faith. With the blessings and gifts God has given all of us and our school, we celebrate that TOGETHER we are R.I.C.H in Christ. The letters of R.I.C.H stand for Respect, Integrity, Courage and Humility. Throughout the year, we will be focusing on each of these traits as the traits of not only the Saints that have lived before us, but also of the saints we are called to be in the big and small moments of our daily lives. We are also beginning a new and exciting adventure called Faith Families. The first week of school, students will be randomly drawn to belong to a “Faith Family” at school. Each “family” will be comprised of students from grades K-6 and be assigned to one full-time teacher. They will stay with this family through all their years at St. Peter School and as our sixth graders graduate, new Kindergarteners will be added. Faith Families will meet at least once a month to do a service or prayer project including Diocesan-wide activities about Respect, Integrity, Courage and Humility and the life of a specific saint. We kicked off our Faith Families on Friday, August 31 (see our facebook page for the video!) and all students, faculty and staff will receive a R.I.C.H in Christ t-shirt in the coming weeks to wear on the Diocesan Days. We hope parents will take time to talk with their children about how they live out their call to show respect and to act with integrity, courage and humility. Perhaps families would like to research some saints and adopt one for their “family saint” at home! More information will be forthcoming! Check our theme song for the year using the link below!
