Many of you have heard about the Parish Renewal, ARISE in Christ, starting at St. Peter’s Parish and in churches across our Diocese this Advent. The initiative has been lovingly brought into being by a group of dedicated parishioners and “Sign Up Sunday” will be the weekend of September 8th. Those interested can form their own small group of 6-10 people or you can choose to participate in a group formed for you or a “communal” group. The focus is offering a chance for all of us to grow deeper connected to our faith through small group sharing. Groups meet to read scripture and talk about how it connects to their lives. This is an excellent way for families to build up their faith life in a time when we desperately need to ARISE and BE THE CHURCH Christ intended during this most difficult time for our church. Families of different faiths are welcome to join as well. The first “season” will last for six weeks during Advent and then groups will reconvene during Lent. Our Religion classes will be participating in the ARISE program at school in grades 1-6. During Advent, once a week, Religion classes will read bible passages and discuss them and create some “faith actions” to live out the Word in their daily lives. Watch for the materials to come home and read them and share them as a family.
