St. Peter School is proud to offer students many opportunities to shine in various contests and competitions throughout the year. Our “Rock’n Readers” are reading up a storm to cover the 40+ titles they need to read for the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 08 Spring Interscholastic Reading Competition which will be held Thursday, April 5th at Forest Hills Middle School. Coached by Mrs. Cindy Miller and Mrs. Sheila Ulerich, the team members will be announced in our April newsletter. Good luck Readers! During any daily recess, one can hear our Forensics students practicing their pieces with great enthusiasm as they prepare for their Regional Competition at Bishop Carroll High School on Friday, March 16th. The team will compete in a variety of self-chosen categories and are coached by Mrs. Lori Holloway, Mrs. Kelly Mateljan and Mrs. Joanne Swearman. This year’s team and their speech categories are: Prose: Megan Barron, Samantha Acey, Hailey Friedline, Haley Grenke, Sydney Grosholz and Abby Urban. Poetry: Simon McGuire DuoDrama: Julia Diaz and Walter O’Neill. We are so proud to have all of these students represent our school and thank them and all the coaches for their hard work and dedication in addition to all their regular daily work and commitments.
